Jing
If you have not tried Jing you are in for a treat! This is a cool piece of software which records video of your computer screen, called a "screencast." The value? You can show a complicated computer procedure in real time on screen for students to learn from (see example screencast below). This can save a teacher hours of redundant explanations and enables learners to learn on their own time and at their own speed. How cool is that?
For student end use, my biology students found liver cell images on the internet (IB biology learning goal) and identified major cell structures using a screencast. This enables them to demonstrate learning in a visual auditory way and keeps the emphasis on images instead of reverting to text (ie. like labelling diagrams).
Fliqz has shut down their service. To access this video,

In this Jing screencast I demonstrate to students how to add details to their Excel graph in biology class.
